English UK Management Conference, 6th - 7th March 2009
The ELT Management Conference provides a forum for ELT management professionals to exchange ideas and discuss key issues affecting the sector. This year the two-day residential event will return to Birmingham, where delegates will enjoy a dinner and special entertainment as well as the opportunity to win a selection of great prizes. IATEFL Annual Conference and Exhibition, Cardiff, 31st March - 4th April 2009
IATEFL holds its International Annual Conference & Exhibition every spring, which is attended by around 1500 ELT professionals from 70+ countries. It involves a 3.5 - 4-day programme of over 300 talks, workshops and symposiums and, in addition to giving delegates a chance to meet leading theorists and writers, and exchange ideas with fellow professionals from all sectors of ELT, it enables them to see the latest ELT publications and services in a large resources exhibition involving around 70 ELT-related exhibitors.
Richard Turnbull will be speaking at this event on Thursday 2nd April. His presentation is entitled How to squeeze 1,000 native English speakers into a classroom. Further details can be found here (PDF).
